Montville Township  is a quiet suburban town. In Money magazine's 2013 Best Places to Live rankings, Montville was ranked 13th in the nation.

 

Downtown Montville has cute boutiques and restaurants which are  located right near the Montville train station, in Towaco section. The town is divided into several sections, them being Towaco, Montville, Lake Valhalla, and Pine Brook. All areas offer something different.  Pine Brook is located right near  Route 46, whereas Towaco and Montville are closer to Route 287 and offer some beautiful homes in quiet neighborhoods.

 

Currently Living in Montville is the infamous Teresa Guidice and her family from the Real Housewives of NJ.

Montville School District:

There are several schools on The Montville Township  district. The Cedar Hill Elementary School serves grades K-5;  Hilldale Elementary School serves grades K-5; William H. Mason Jr. Elementary School  serves K-5; Valley View Elementary School serves PreK-5; and Woodmont Elementary School also serves K-5.

There is one main Middle school where all elementary schools flow into, Robert R. Lazar Middle School for grades 6-8.

Montville Township High School is for grades 9-12  and was named #18 on N.J. Monthly’s 2018 Top 100 Public High Schools List.

Commuting from Montville:

The Towaco train station was recently renovated making it quite a lovely station to travel from.  NJ Transit provides service on the Montclair-Boonton Line from Towaco to Penn Station.  (Note-you may need to transfer trains in Montclair or Newark Broad).

 

NJ Transit also offers several bus option to Manhattan. By car it will take you about 45 minutes via 287 and route 80.
